Kia ora! I’m Max, the creative force behind Maxwell Productions, based here in Christchurch, New Zealand. I’ve been working in videography and photography since around 2017, and my journey as a Māori creator has been as much about reconnecting with my own cultural roots as it has been about telling meaningful stories.

Embracing a Māori Lens

In every project, I bring an indigenous perspective that honours the timeless traditions of Māori storytelling. But it’s important to share that my upbringing didn’t always centre around being Māori. My cultural reconnection has evolved alongside my creative work, and it’s something I’ve become deeply passionate about. This journey of weaving my heritage into my art has given me a unique perspective and a genuine appreciation for the cultural depth that underpins each story I tell.

Why Choose a Culturally-Grounded Approach?

In today’s digital world, people are looking for genuine connections and meaningful stories. By choosing a videographer who understands tikanga and the importance of kaupapa Māori, you’re ensuring that your story is told with the respect and authenticity it deserves. This not only resonates with local audiences but also appeals to international clients who value cultural depth and storytelling that goes beyond the surface.
