Kaupapa

What do you mean by ‘Kaupapa’ you might be wondering. You’ll often hear this word when working with me. The definition being – topic, policy, matter for discussion, plan, purpose, scheme, proposal, agenda, subject, programme, theme, issue, initiative.

In my context I’d say this is the space for our commercial, events, narrative, storytelling, social media, deep and meaningful, short and sweet content.

When you boil it down, it’s the who, what when where and why to your story all rolled into one nice neat kupu.

Services

  • Photography

Photography is a way of holding space. I don’t just aim to take a good shot — I aim to reflect the mauri of the kaupapa. From documenting events to creating imagery that carries cultural weight or elevates a message, I approach each frame with care, softness, and an eye for the in-between. What’s left is imagery that feels lived-in, not staged.

  • Videography

Filming kaupapa through a Māori lens means more than pointing a camera — it means tuning in. It’s about understanding the values behind the kaupapa, knowing when to step back, and when to capture the moments that matter. Whether it's for a community initiative, brand campaign, social impact story, or something a little outside the box, I bring a documentary eye and a storyteller's heart.Description goes here

  • Post Production

Editing is where it all comes together. It’s the part of the process where decisions matter most — where tikanga, tone, and clarity are honoured. Whether I’m editing a short-form social video, a longer narrative piece, or a kaupapa-led campaign, the goal is the same: to shape something that feels true to the story, and to those who are part of it.
